San Gennaro is a family owned and operated restaurant that prides itself on being at the forefront of southern Italian cooking and coffee culture in Montreal. San Gennaro uses only the best quality ingredients for their renowned Roman-style pizza, artisanal gelati and authentic pastries.
The baker and pizza/prep cook is responsible for making a variety of pastries and pizzas according to San Gennaro recipes. It involves preparing the pizza dough, cutting and slicing various ingredients to be used as toppings, as well as making other foods or pastries. The pizza/prep cook is also responsible to maintain a clean workstation while properly following kitchen safety protocol.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare pastries and pizzas according to San Gennaro recipes
- Prepare pizza dough and ingredients
- Monitor the temperature of the ovens as well as cooking times
- Manage all food orders and ensure they are completed in a timely manner
- Serve and package pizzas accordingly
- Ensure workstation and all kitchen tools are clean
- Ensure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards
- Cook other menu items with the support of the kitchen staff
- Monitor inventory
- Experience with food preparation and food handling
- Ability to follow recipes

- French and English oral skills
ASSETS
- Certificate or Diploma from a recognized culinary school
- Minimum one-year experience in a similar role
