Description
We are looking for an inclusive, dynamic leader who loves their city and wants to provide a memorable and personalized experience to each of our guests. The Banquet Director will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of banquet activities and leading the banquet team.
Our Banquet Director will work closely with the food and beverage team and the conference/banquet sales team to deliver impeccable service to our guests, reflecting our DNA: evolved, captivating, and connected. At the Humaniti Hotel Montreal, we are looking for people who prioritize the human touch and will deliver an experience in line with our wellness concept to our customers.
Roles and Responsibilities
Team Management (servers/support staff/bartenders)
· Understand the Humaniti brand and embody it within our team on a daily basis.
· Use communication skills to lead the team toward success, setting an example, and valuing decision-making that aligns with the establishment's goals while demonstrating honesty and integrity.
· Foster an environment of trust, respect, and cooperation within the team.
· Ensure the engagement and recognition of the entire team.
· Clearly communicate the establishment's expectations.
Department Management
· Manage human resources for the banquet department (staff recruitment, training, work distribution, scheduling, performance evaluation, conflict resolution, etc.).
· Manage financial (budget preparation, operating cost control, etc.) and material (inventory management, procurement, negotiations with suppliers, etc.) resources allocated to the department.
· Determine pricing and promotion strategies for the banquet service in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing Director, the general management, and other relevant department heads.
Customer Service
· Discuss banquet facility arrangements with customers.
· Supervise food and beverage service during banquets from start to finish.
· Assist and take charge during pre-event meetings.
· Greet and assist customers upon arrival at the property.
· Ensure optimal utilization of all facilities and maximize profitability.
· Ensure customer satisfaction during and after service delivery and address complaints when necessary.
· Work in coordination with other departments within the establishment.
· All other related tasks.
Requirements
· College or university degree in hotel management or equivalent education.
· Excellent organizational skills, prioritization, and outstanding customer service.
· Excellent ability to establish and maintain good business relationships with other departments and external stakeholders.
· Ability to work under pressure and manage stress.
· Proactivity, initiative, and autonomy.
· Strong personnel management skills.
· (2) years of experience in the hotel industry at the front desk.
· year of team supervision experience in the hotel industry.
· Bilingual (French and English).
