Bartender, MARCUS Restaurant & Lounge

Department: MARCUS Restaurant & Lounge

Reports to: Assistant Food and Beverage Managers

Status: Full-Time    

Hourly Rate: $18,63 + Tips

The Four Seasons Hotel Montreal is looking for someone who shares our passion for excellence and seeks to create a memorable experience for our employees and guests. Core Responsibilities

  • Offer guests at the bar a distinguished and pleasant service as per Four Seasons quality standards;

  • Anticipate guest needs and responds in a proactive manner;

  • Serve a variety of beverages and have excellent knowledge of the beverage menu;

  • Develop complete knowledge of all products offered by the bar such as wines, cocktails, beers, Armagnacs, cognacs, spirits and all other beverages;

  • Work closely with the Sommelier to ensure proper rotation of wine products;

  • Perform all opening and closing tasks at the bar; be able to set-up tables as per required standards;

  • Present beverage and food menus and offer clients suggestions;

  • Have detailed knowledge of all menu items whether it be food or beverages;

  • Remove and stock all tableware, porcelain, silverware, glassware, beverages and food;

  • Ability to use the hotel’s computer system (micros) for product billing, printing invoices and to close payments in the correct payment system;

  • Bring plates to clients, clean up and reset tables;

  • Tidy up and clean bar area during service hours;

  • Ensure all details of service are delivered to perfection and that each client is given the best quality service;

  • Ensure bar is properly stocked at all times and that opening and closing tasks are executed;

  • Welcome guests with a warm, courteous demeanor by making eye contact with a smile and proper presentation;

  • Immediately report all incidents or atypical situations to the supervisor;

  • Correctly respond to various emergency or security situations;

  • Ensure client satisfaction and take ownership of any problem that may arise, advise supervisors afterwards;

  • Perform all other tasks or projects assigned by hotel management;

Requirements

Desired Qualifications and Skills

  • Strong command of the French and English languages;

  • Have a good resistance to stress and manage it positively and effectively;

  • 2 – 3 years’ experience in the same role, ideally in a luxury hotel environment;

  • An affinity for guest service;

  • Good interpersonal skills. This position involves a large volume of guest contact and excellent communication skills are required;

  • Excellent bartending and cocktail knowledge;

  • Move about facility and stand for long periods of time;

  • The ability to carry up to 30lbs (13kg);

  • A flexible schedule with the ability to work all shifts: days, nights, weekends and holidays;

  • The ideal candidate will also have solid food and wine knowledge, a strong attention to detail and the ability to multitask;

  • Excellent knowledge of modern and classic cocktails;
