Job description

The service clerk is the link between the kitchen and the dining room. He/she supports the waiters and waitresses during the service according to their directives, in order to ensure an outstanding gastronomic experience for the customers. More generally, he/she collaborates with other members of the dining room team to ensure good communication between the dining room and kitchen teams.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :

  • Clear and straighten tables according to established standards;
  • Ensure cleanliness of dining room, bathrooms and workstations;
  • Prepare and fill the various workstations (SAM, bar, terrace);
  • Assist with plate service;
  • Assist the waiter in setting up the dining room and pass before service begins;
  • Enhance product knowledge to ensure fast, accurate service; 
  • Inquire about customer satisfaction at every opportunity;
  • Respond to all customer requests;
  • Ensure cleanliness of work area and dining room;
  • Work in collaboration with the kitchen and dining room teams to ensure efficient and adequate service for customers;
  • Perform all other tasks required for the smooth running of dining room service.

Requirements

  • 1 to 2 years experience in the same or similar position;
  • Training in food service or cooking (asset);
  • Developed sense of stress and priority management;
  • Leadership and excellent communication skills;
  • Autonomy and initiative;
  • Flexible availability;
  • Bilingual french/english due to frequent communication with an international clientele
