Job description

We are looking for a motivated chef to join our dynamic team. You will play an essential role in creating exceptional culinary experiences for our customers. You will be responsible for accurately preparing and cooking dishes, ensuring they meet our establishment's quality standards. Your passion for cooking, creativity, and commitment to excellence will contribute to ensuring customer satisfaction and enhancing our hotel's culinary reputation.

This position involves serving both lunch and dinner, from Tuesday to Saturday.


1. Ingredient Preparation:

- Perform mise en place by preparing all necessary ingredients in advance, including washing, peeling, and chopping vegetables, weighing meats, and other products.
- Organize prepared ingredients in appropriate, labeled containers, ready for use during dish preparation.
- Check stocks to ensure all necessary ingredients are available and in sufficient quantity for the day.
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment during ingredient preparation.

2. Dish Cooking:

- Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and establishment standards.
- Monitor cooking times and temperatures carefully to ensure the quality of served dishes.

3. Stock Management:

- Ensure efficient stock management by maintaining accurate and up-to-date inventory lists.
- Ensure compliance with hygiene and food safety standards in the storage of perishable products.
- Rotate products upon receiving food deliveries to ensure ingredient freshness.
- Accurately fill requisition lists to ensure adequate supply of ingredients and kitchen supplies.
- Fill out loss document as necessary to keep accurate track of losses and waste.

4. Team Collaboration:

- Work closely with other kitchen team members to ensure smooth coordination.
- Communicate effectively with serving staff to address specific customer requests.

5. Standards Compliance:

- Adhere to kitchen cleanliness and hygiene standards, as well as food safety procedures.
- Maintain an organized and clean work environment.


- Ability to work under pressure and manage stress.
- Versatility and ability to adapt to different positions in the kitchen.
- Organization and ability to maintain a clean and efficient work environment.
- Previous experience in cooking, preferably in a hotel environment.
- Thorough knowledge of culinary techniques and cooking methods.
- Creativity and ability to innovate in food preparation.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Professional attitude and team spirit.
- Strict adherence to food hygiene and safety standards.
- Flexible schedule, including availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- 2 years of experience in a similar position.
- MAPAQ certification (an asset).
