Position: Culinary Innovation/Food Product Development Specialist
Location: Saint-Laurent
Salary: To be determined, according to experience

One of the fastest-growing international food industry leaders is seeking a Culinary Innovation/Food Product Development Specialist for their Montreal office. They are looking for someone with the product development expertise to help expand their portfolio and enter new categories.

Reporting into the Director of Innovation, this role will manage the development of items with co-manufacturing partners. Collaboration and communication skills are key – this role requires inputs from across the organization.

Responsibilities:

- Identify market gaps and key opportunity areas to develop new and unique products 
- Define and own the process by which conceptual ideas are translated into commercializable formulations
- Organize and lead brainstorm sessions with the international marketing team to develop a slate of ideas ready for development with key accounts
- Manage the relationships with co-manufacturing partners for the end-to-end development of new products, and partner with external and internal R&D/culinary support to develop formulations
- Liaise between internal and external stakeholders, such as Procurement, Quality Assurance and Food Safety, Nutrition and Regulatory, etc.
- Develop and manage timelines, budgets, and product development activities
- Assist in brand development, marketing campaigns and presentations 
- Assist in coordination of samples and other related tasks

Requirements:

- 2 to 5 years of experience in food product development for food manufacturing or private label 
- Passion for the food industry, staying abreast of the latest trends in product development, functional ingredients, and wellness
- Education in Culinary Arts or Food Science is considered a strong asset 
- Very good oral and written communication skills in English to work with key accounts abroad 
- Strong organization and project management skills, with demonstrated ability to set priorities within tight timelines
- Business-minded and marketing aptitude 
- Ability to travel from time to time to meet clients
