Title: Manager - Operations and New Product Development  

Terms of employment: Permanent, full time

Location of work: Markham, ON

Hours of work: 40 hours per week

Salary: $40.00-50.00 per hour



  • Make production schedules with the Head Baker;

  • Oversee quality control;

  • Ensure proper inventory control, product rotation and quality;

  • Supervise and train cooks and packagers;

  • Correspond with customers and the Bakery Counter Clerks;

  • Create new recipes and products through correspondence with the Head Baker;

  • Follow recipes that correspond to specific production schedule;

  • Scooping, measuring and scaling batters, doughs, and mixes into specified portions prior to baking;

  • Proper use of equipment such as mixer, divider, rounder, proofer, oven, and stove top;

  • Ensure safety hazards are removed and/or reported;

  • Maintain a clean working environment at all times;

  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate the operations of a manufacturing establishment or the operations or production department of a manufacturing establishment

  • Develop and implement plans to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet production targets

  • Plan and manage the establishment of departmental budget

  • Develop production schedules and maintain an inventory of raw materials and finished products

  • Plan and implement changes to machinery and equipment, production systems and methods of work

  • Direct quality control inspection system and develop production reporting procedures

  • Develop equipment maintenance schedules and recommend the replacement of machines

  • Hire, supervise and train or oversee training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques.



  • Environmental food safety & Handling knowledge

  • 5 + Years of experience baking and supervising production of Turkish baked goods; 

  • Basic knowledge of bakery machinery and its maintenance; 

  • Willing to travel;

  • Knowledge of different Turkish baking methods;

  • Knowledge of Turkish bread and bakery machinery suitable for Turkish pastry;

  • In-depth knowledge and experience with artisanal Turkish pastries and ingredients;
