Job description
The Manoir Hovey, a 5 star Relais & Châteaux Inn on the lakefront, is looking for a Sommelier to join its team in a dynamic and award-winning company.
Under the direction of the Head sommelier, the Sommelier is responsible for the smooth running of service and customer satisfaction, and for the management and development of the staff. His/her main duties will be to:
- Greeting customers upon their arrival
- Assist in the management of the wine cellar
- Be able to advise customers on both the menu and the wine list
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Participate in the management, training and professional development of the restaurant team
- Adhere to departmental goals, work schedules, budgets, policies and procedures
Requirements
- Team spirit, dynamism, organizational skills, initiative
- Excellent culinary and oenological knowledge
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Bilingual
- Knowledge of Maitre D software, an asset
- 3 to 5 years of experience in gourmet restaurants (Relais & Châteaux, Michelin, 4 or 5 Diamonds CAA/AAA or equivalent...)
