Hours of work: 40 hours per week

Salary: $50,000 - $58,000 CAD per year

We believe that our kitchens are only as good as their leadership team. In the role of Sous Chef, your primary objective is to support the Chef de Cuisine, and lead the kitchen in his/her absence to the same standards of execution. A Sous Chef must be a creative person with a passion for amazing food, who has a strong technical and leadership skills to match.


·         Prepares and cooks complete meals

·         Promotes guest satisfaction by ensuring all food is executed to standard

·         Meets food cost target through maintaining inventory and ordering systems

·         Trains all cooks on the proper and consistent execution of all dishes

·         Maintaining a spotlessly clean kitchen and back of house

·         Adhering to all food handling and health and safety procedures

·         Maintenance of equipment and building, scheduling repairs as needed

·         Review and evaluate vendor/supplier pricing on regular basis

·         Implement plans and corrective actions to address any inventory variances

·         Conducting Line Checks and Pre-shift meetings prior to service

·         Fostering an atmosphere of hard work, discipline, respectful communication, cooperation and positivity amongst all staff

·         Demonstrating high level of self-discipline in work habits, work quality and the pursuit of new professional knowledge and skills

·         Supervise activities of specialist chefs, chefs, cooks and other kitchen workers

·         Demonstrate new cooking techniques and new equipment to cooking staff

·         Assist Chef De Cuisine with development of culturally relevant and authentic dishes. 


·         Minimum 5 years of experience as a Sous Chef

·         In-depth knowledge of Jamaica/Caribbean cuisine

·         Skillful technical culinary foundation

·         Strong leadership and communication skills

·         Culinary arts certificate is an asset
