Immerse yourself in the captivating universe of Corner Collection, a prestigious portfolio that embodies decades of history in hospitality and gastronomy. We are firmly committed to leading globally, crafting exceptional experiences across our acclaimed hotels, spas, and restaurants. At Corner Collection, we live by our four core values: community-mindedness, passion, initiative, and a pursuit of excellence.

Our flagship properties, Hôtel Nelligan and Hôtel Place d’Armes, have been distinguished as Canada’s top urban hotels by the prestigious Travel & Leisure – Best Awards 2023.

Join us to play a pivotal role in our mission to exceed expectations and create unforgettable, bespoke moments for our guests.

Seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our dynamic and passionate team. As a Sous Chef, you will play a key role in directly supervising the kitchen team and managing daily operations. You will assist the Executive Chef in menu planning, inventory management, and cost control. Your main responsibility will be to ensure the preparation and quality of dishes at every stage of production, following recipes rigorously and applying appropriate culinary techniques. You will effectively organize workstations, ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards, and motivate the team to maintain high standards. Your ability to closely collaborate with the chef and team members will ensure an exceptional and consistent culinary experience for our guests.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Support the Executive Chef in leading a large, dynamic kitchen team.
  • Bring mouthwatering flavours and excellent quality food to our guests by running a section in our busy kitchen.
  • Coach, train, mentor, and develop a dedicated and passionate kitchen team line.
  • Create a respectful and inclusive environment that welcomes and supports people from all backgrounds and helps them reach their full potential.
  • Encourage Corner Crew’s engagement and retention through training, recognition, and constant coaching.
  • Manage budget efficiently and professionally and participate in kitchen management activities.
  • Work hand in hand with our Executive Chef and other Sous-Chefs on ideas and techniques that make our kitchen authentic, creative, and distinctive.
  • Make sure things are running smoothly, our service is outstanding, and food hygiene standards are respected.
  • Take pride and responsibility in every dish prepared and contribute significantly to enhancing the overall quality of the dishes served.

Other tasks may be assigned, and so we’re counting on your flexibility and resourcefulness!

WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU

  • The unique opportunity to lead the service teams of one of Montreal’s most renowned establishments, recognized both locally and internationally.
  • A luxurious and upscale environment just steps from a metro station in the heart of Old Montreal.
  • Competitive salary and rewards that recognize excellence and positive behaviors that reflect our purpose and values.
  • Access to a Meal program.
  • An environment where work-life balance is encouraged.
  • An exceptional 50% discount at all Corner Collection locations for you and your loved ones.
  • Many opportunities to progress and reach your full potential – we’re growing, and we want passionate, motivated people to grow with us.
  • Discounts on the STM Opus monthly pass.
  • Access to a group insurance program and group RRSP with employer contribution for full-time Corner team members, after 3 months of service.
  • Access to a recognition program, festive events, and team-building activities.
