Job Duties and Responsibilities:


The Speciality Chef will perform some or all the following duties:


·         Supervise activities of sous-chefs, specialist chefs, chefs and other kitchen staff;

·         Consult with clients regarding weddings, banquets and specialty functions;

·         Plan and direct food preparation, and ensure food meets quality standards;

·         May prepare and cook Italian dishes on a regular basis, or for special guests or functions;

·         Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs;

·         Assist with the recruitment and hiring of staff. 


Employment Requirements:


·         Minimum five (5) years of experience as a chef, in an Italian restaurant;

·         Proven track record of performance as a senior chef;

·         Experience with authentic high-end Italian cuisine;

·         In-depth knowledge of Italian foods, ingredients and spices;

·         Prior catering experience for parties over 100 guests;

·         Knowledge of food costs, ordering, inventory management, working schedules, and menu creation;

·         Strong communication, organizational and time management skills;

·         Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment;

·         Vocational training or certificate in Italian cuisine is an asset;

·         Must be available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Type of Employment: FullTime,

Permanent Position (44 hours per week)

Wage: $22.50 - $27.00 per hour
