Cocotte Bistro is a refined yet casual take on an authentic French bistro, with a distinctly National Capital lens featuring a classic yet contemporary approach to French bistro cuisine. Cocotte Bistro will also bet on bubbles by the glass, thoughtfully sourced ingredients, social hour specials and sharing items prepared and served en cocotte.
The Kitchen Steward’s position is called upon to support the kitchen and service staff by cleaning dishes, silverware and any other implements used in the process of creating and serving dishes to the clientele. They are also responsible to ensure cleanliness of his station and of the kitchens.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Washing all dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans
- Organize and stack clean dishes and equipment safely
- Use dishwasher and kitchen tools safely and as directed
- Safely handle cleaning supplies and chemicals
- Ensure organization of station and participate in kitchen cleanliness
- Ensure cleanliness of kitchen and culinary work areas
- Empty trash and recycling bins
- Sweep, mop and wash fixtures as needed or directed
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, evenings, and/or weekends & holidays
- Ability to effectively communicate with colleagues
- Able to stand or walk for extended periods of time (8 hours) and lift at least 50 lbs
- Understanding of kitchen operations, health and safety rules
- Ability to work in a team environment and to work independently
