Job description

The Courtyard Marriott is located in the heart of Montreal, near the Palais des congrès, a few minutes from the most famous underground city in the world, Place des Arts, shops and boutiques on the effervescent rue Ste-Catherine and the Old -Montreal. The hotel offers 212 spacious rooms, conference rooms, indoor swimming pool and hot tub, exercise room as well as a restaurant, lounge bar and café counter.

 

Under the authority of the restaurant manager and his assistant, the waiter must know the details of the menu and share his expertise with customers. He offers a warm welcome, a careful presentation of the table and has a friendly attitude. The server strives to provide all customers with a memorable experience.

 

Main tasks

Greet customers and provide prompt service at tables.

Take customer orders by making recommendations and answering their questions.

Serve food and drinks to customers with recommendations.

Share your menu knowledge to answer questions and special customer requests.

Know perfectly all the dishes of the menu, the garnishes, the contents and the method of preparation.

Enter transactions into the system (POS) error-free and in a timely manner.

Clear tables, perform fence duties and replace cutlery and other supplies.

Collaborate in the cleanliness, maintenance and maintain of the professional image of the hotel.

Be vigilant and attentive to customer requests on food allergies and intolerances and ensure that the information is specified in the kitchen.

Follow hotel procedures, standards.

All other related tasks.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma in hotel management technique, Professional training in catering (DEP).

Be 18 years old.

Bilingualism, French and English.

Availability to work days, evenings and weekends.

Good classic and up-to-date culinary knowledge.

Knowledge of oenology, spirits, beers.

Ability to react quickly to emergency situations.

Good salesman.

Strong sense of autonomy and organization.

Good team spirit and ease in establishing contact with customers.

This job requires the ability to lift and move items up to 11 kg. It is also required to stand or walk for long periods.
