<p class="text-node"><strong>JOB OVERVIEW</strong></p><p class="text-node">The reception agent is responsible for providing outstanding service to our guests by handling check-ins and check-outs and offering information about the hotel and the city. The reception agent is expected to listen and resolve issues while maintaining a high level of professionalism with our guests.</p><p class="text-node"><strong>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES</strong></p><p class="text-node">· Provide excellent service to our guests by warmly welcoming them, anticipating their needs, and genuinely thanking them;</p><p class="text-node">· Warmly execute guest check-ins and check-outs, reservations, modifications, or cancellations;</p><p class="text-node">· Secure the payment method; verify and adjust billing;</p><p class="text-node">· Count the cash at the beginning and end of the shift and secure it at all times;</p><p class="text-node">· Complete cash and closing reports in the computer system;</p><p class="text-node">· Process all types of payments, adjustment vouchers, deposits, correction vouchers, and miscellaneous charges; provide change to guests upon request;</p><p class="text-node">· Activate and file room keys;</p><p class="text-node">· Generate and review daily reports and logs;</p><p class="text-node">· Handle all guest requests and relay messages;</p><p class="text-node">· Provide guests with explanations and information regarding room features and supplies, hotel amenities, services, and hours of operation;</p><p class="text-node">· Offer information about the city and be able to suggest activities of interest;</p><p class="text-node">· Ensure that all outstanding requests or issues from the previous day are prioritized and resolved;</p><p class="text-node">· Communicate in a clear, professional, and courteous manner;</p><p class="text-node">· Answer the phone using appropriate etiquette;</p><p class="text-node">· Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support your team in achieving common goals;</p><p class="text-node">· Inform management of any theft reported by a guest;</p><p class="text-node">· Follow all company policies and procedures;</p><p class="text-node">· Maintain confidentiality of private and confidential information;</p><p class="text-node">· Protect company assets;</p><p class="text-node">· Report accidents, injuries, and any hazardous working conditions to the on-duty supervisor;</p><p class="text-node">· Print contingency lists to have a record of all guests in case of emergency;</p><p class="text-node">· Reflect a clean and professional appearance; wear the uniform according to company standards;</p><p class="text-node"></p><p class="text-node">· Perform any other related duties as requested.</p><p class="text-node"></p><p class="text-node"><strong>EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE</strong></p><p class="text-node">· Vocational or college training in hospitality, tourism, or a related field;</p><p class="text-node">· Experience in a customer service position for at least one (1) year;</p><p class="text-node">· Experience as a hotel receptionist is an asset;</p><p class="text-node">· Knowledge of reception software is an asset.</p><p class="text-node"><strong>SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND ATTRIBUTES</strong></p><p class="text-node">· Communicate effectively in writing and verbally, in English and French;</p><p class="text-node">· Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times;</p><p class="text-node">· Possess organizational skills and attention to detail;</p><p class="text-node">· Have excellent interpersonal skills and strong customer service abilities;</p><p class="text-node">· Demonstrate a positive attitude and the ability to listen empathetically to guests' needs or complaints;</p><p class="text-node">· Capable of making decisions and solving problems independently;</p><p class="text-node">· Flexibility with scheduling: weekends, mornings, evenings, holidays, and nights; night shifts to cover the night auditor may be required.
