Host/Hostess

Café Cherrier, a well-established French bistro in the heart of the Plateau Mont-Royal since 1983, is looking for a host/hostess to join our front-of-house team.

We are seeking someone available mainly on Saturdays and Sundays during the day, who is comfortable with customer interaction and able to manage a fast-paced service with efficiency and composure.

Role

The host/hostess is the first point of contact for our guests, both in person and over the phone. This role is essential in creating a warm first impression and ensuring smooth coordination of reservations and dining room flow.

Responsibilities

• Manage reservations and table organization according to the floor plan
• Welcome guests, escort them to their table, and adjust place settings as needed
• Answer phone calls following established procedures
• Ensure menus are clean and in good condition
• Support the dining room team during service when needed
• Maintain a clean and organized host stand and work area
• Thank guests upon departure and ensure a positive overall experience
• Perform any other related tasks required for smooth service operations

Profile

• Strong customer service skills
• Ability to stay calm and organized in a busy environment
• Autonomous and resourceful
• Good sense of organization and priorities
• Comfortable in both French and English

Conditions

• Weekend daytime position (Saturday and Sunday)
• Dynamic work environment with an experienced team
• Salary: $16.10 + tips
