SOUS-CHEF (Kitchen) – Summer Camp

⭐️ Position: Sous-Chef (Kitchen) – Summer Camp for Youth

⭐️ Camp Description:

• Summer camp for children aged 6 to 17

• Traditional camp atmosphere

• Located near Saint-Sauveur

• Private site surrounded by forest and lakes

⭐️ Working Conditions:

Two Sous-Chef positions available:

• Morning shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM

• Afternoon shift: 12:00 PM – 8:00 PM

• Full-time: 5 days per week (40 hours/week)

• Hourly rate based on experience (starting at $25/hour)

• Overtime paid at 1.5x after 40 hours/week

• Service volume: 100 to 300 meals per service

• 3 meal services per day + 2 snack periods (AM or PM shifts)

• Cafeteria-style service with adapted meals for allergies and dietary restrictions

• Menus and recipes are pre-established and standardized

• Kitchen brigade of approximately 4 to 7 staff per service (including dishwasher)

• Fully equipped kitchen; knives provided and sharpened every two weeks

  • Prospectors’ tent equipped with electricity

  • One double bed per person (maximum 3 people per tent)

  • Picnic table, utensils, dishes, small refrigerator, etc.

• Free access to camp facilities and lakes

• Free parking at the camp entrance

• Reimbursement of one round-trip transportation (Montréal ↔ Saint-Sauveur): mileage or bus ticket

• Free shuttle every two weeks for a weekend return to Montréal

Note: Owning a car is not required. Transportation by bus is organized, and a shuttle runs every other weekend between Montréal and the camp.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently

• Good communication skills and leadership abilities

• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to foster collaboration

• Solid knowledge of allergens, cross-contamination, and food safety regulations (MAPAQ standards)

• Comfortable living and working in a communal environment

• Enjoys nature and outdoor settings

⭐️ Mandatory Requirements:

• Must consent to a criminal background check (as you will be working with a vulnerable clientele)

• Must be available for the full duration of the assignment
