About Us

SoLIT café is located in the heart of downtown Montreal. Bistro style menu with a focus on specialty coffee and fresh food in a beautiful orange orchard setting. Customer service and quality is always at the forefront of everything we do.

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for a skilled, reliable, and motivated Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, works well under pressure, and consistently delivers high-quality dishes in a fast-paced environment. You will play a key role in ensuring smooth kitchen operations, maintaining food safety standards, and creating an excellent dining experience for our guests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, cook, and plate menu items according to recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked workstation throughout service.
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and hygiene practices at all times.
  • Work efficiently and collaboratively with kitchen staff, front of house, and management.
  • Assist in prep work, inventory rotation, and daily mise en place.
  • Adapt to busy service periods and handle pressure while maintaining consistency.
  • Uphold quality standards, minimizing waste and ensuring portion accuracy.
  • Follow opening and closing kitchen procedures.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture and professional work environment.


Requirements

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum 2-3 years experience as a Line Cook or similar role in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety regulations.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent communication skills and a team-player attitude.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Culinary training or certification (asset, but not required).

Tips are $4-$10/hr.
